Settlement Phases & Categories
We expect The Wolf Tribe at The Alcateia do Lobo to undergo three principal waves of arrival during the course of its development and have grouped our ecovillage settlers
into three categories.
ECOVILLAGE SETTLEMENT PHASES
The Pioneers are those settlers who arrive before anything has been built. Since it will be a while before the construction of formal dwellings is completed, they provide their own temporary accommodation, roll up their sleeves and work creatively with others during the formative stages of a life-changing project.

Those who come to live in the ready built temporary accommodation would be identified as Early Settlers. At this next stage, small but adequate housing would be available. Early Settlers would make these dwellings their temporary homes, while the build their forever homes on their respective homesites.

With most of our Ecovillage development already in place, the Late Settlers arrive to settle down into a good life, eager to support the work of those who have already built much of the infrastructure at The Alcateia do Lobo Ecovillage and fit into the Wolf Tribe with a reasonably easy transition.

ECOVILLAGE SETTLEMENT CATEGORIES

They have still not moved over completely to the property but are shareholders and homesite owners who return from time to time to The Alcateia do Lobo.

These Wolf Tribe members are the temporary residents at the Ecovillage.
They arrive and spend time at The Alcateia do Lobo as volunteers, as attendees of one of the many courses offered, as visitors and/or as contractual workers.
